Wong Yao Hong has and expresses a great deal of martial intent in his practice and performances. He does not hesitate to show or cross his hands.
Although, at first, being denied by his father to learn Tanglang because he was a naughty boy, he is said to have eventually received 90% of his father, Wong Yook Gong's teaching.
In the 1970's, he travelled to Spain where he demonstrated "mui-fa" plum flower pole which was popularly hailed. At that time, due to his popularity, he was challenged by and bested three southern style practitioners.
He has also travelled to Toronto, Canada and London, England to promote Tanglang. Today, he has one student in Australia who operates a Tong. And although, he doesn't teach openly, it is obvious that he is "Tanglang".
